I hate losing days. It is part of the biz, and as long as I win more than I lose and keep things at 60% it will all be good at the end of the day. The Stl game was a prime example of why I do not like lines with a lot of juice. I took it -1.5, lost, but didn't lose a lot. In the past i would have. These are the things that I have learned.

I hope my ramblings help you guys out. As you can tell I am passionate about this, and I work very hard at this everyday. My goal would be to quit my job and make my living off of this and playing craps. I am working on figuring out how to make a living from that as well. If anyone has a good strategy, let me know.

Hope everyone is having a good day.
Nick to answer your question bout bankroll mgmt, I personally try to keep my bets around 3-5 % of my total bankroll, so after I take a distribution, I will lower the dollar amount. I know it is not easy to do so, especially when I am winning, but it is important. I tend to see a losing streaks occur after winning streaks, and that can be for many reasons. One, lines catch up- If a certain team is an over team, Vegas will move the line, and eventually that team will go back to the mean. Two- Teams catch up- If there is a dominant team that is covering a lot, teams will eventually figure out how to stop them. The line will also catch up as well.  I hope this helps.

Sorry about the late post, when I am wrong, I take a look at the game to see where I could be wrong. Most of the time, it is just the way the ball bounces. Every now and then I find something, and I found something pretty big today. I am pretty excited about this, because usually my research picks up games that are heavily weighted by 60-70% on a certain side. This one thing I found is up to 88% in divisonal games this year and I checked it with last years stats and it was at 78%. I don't have anything older to check it, but that is pretty rare in my book. So I am pretty excited about it, and it works well with multiple sports as well. Sorry for the bable just wanted to explain why I am late and what I have been researching all day.

I really need to stop saying good job to myself. Not a good day, but it's the long term goal that matters, and as long as I have moer great days than days like this, it will be ok. In my own personal account, I took money out, for this reason alone. Don't want to lose all that I worked so hard to gain. I learned this the hard way, where I would take some winnings just to lose it. I am keeping focused and still only betting a small percentage of my account balance.

Another great day, lets keep it going! I got lucky with the step out play as I thought Kobe would not play. As you can see the first quarter was a really low scoring quarter and the pace stepped up thankfully. Sometimes a little luck helps too. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I will be back with picks, but I need some help getting odds. I am limited at work about getting on certain web pages, and I have no cell phone coverage at work. I use yahoo to help me getting odds to assist me to pick games. Nick, since I know you follow me, can you give me the odds for the NBA and NHL. I need spreads and totals and ML for NHL, if its not too much trouble.


Thank you Nick for updating the odds. I hope Yahoo can get their act together, otherwise I have to leave the building to get the lines from 5 dimes. I like to use yahoo, because it shows multiple sportsbooks.

We split yesterday, and I do want to appologize for the Detroit pick. I lost on that too, but I didn't have all the information made avail to me, and I would have stayed away after seeing how Columbus was an under play. I have a lot of data at work, and I just forgot to bring some key data with me home for the weekend.

There are no games today. I do have a lean on the under for the Calgary/Kings game. It is screaming over and vegas has the line at 5. That scares me. This is also a flip flop game, where the score was 6-2. It is telling me to take the under, but I can't take the under with the Kings being an over machine lately. Their last 5 games have been over. I know Vegas is slow to make lines for hockey. I don't think enough people bet on it to make a difference, but this feels like a trap for the over. So I am torn, and if I am torn, it means stay away.

I want to share my thoughts on this to help you, so I hope that this makes sense.

I am going to add a new feature to my blog. A friend of mine pays a certain handicapper for his service, and he told me that when his picks are the same as mine, the pick is correct 78% of the time. So I told him to tell me when that is and I will post this pick as a step out play or 5% of the bankroll.

Columus Detroit Over 5.5- They just played and Detroit lost 3-0. This is a perfect play on the flip flop theory. Detroit is at -180, which is too much juice for me, but at first glance the under is the play, but it is screaming over. I keep track of games just like these, and the flip flop occurs 78% of the time, so lets play the over.

Isle/Pitt Over 5.5.  Overall hockey games have been under more than anything. The one exception is divisional games and Pitt. Hockey is full of streaks, and Pitt is streaking over. Isle are also a good over team making this my  second pick for today.

The Clippers game is just like the Indiana game yesterday. Nick, you asked how I come about certain games. This is one is called the Christmas Theory, which I read online some time ago. It works when you see two teams that are playing each other, and one team is far superior than the other. There is an easy formula where you take the winning % for the better team minus the other winning %  divided by 20 and then subtract 10. This tells you where if everything being even the number should be. What it doesn't show is motivation, the real tell of how a team will perform. So if it is off, that tells me something. In the Clippers game, it tells me the Clippers should be a 6.5 pt fav, 9 pt at home. If the line is off more than 5 points, which it is, and that team does well at home/road compared to the other team, I take it. This theory is like 80%.

So on other words, I take the expertise of the guys at Vegas to help me pick the game.

I am not including college. I haven't had time to handicap these games.

Sorry about the incorrect date. I hope I didn't throw anybody off. It was just a test to see if anybody noticed. Even though I am excited about baseball, I do not believe that it was the reason why I put in May.
I am having issues getting lines for a lot of games today, so todays card will be a little short.

No games today. I was going to go with the under on the Chicago/Avs games, but I feel like thats an under trap that will go over. The Avs play pretty well at home, I wonder if they will win. I don't have the line for this game, but a good  agressive gamble would be on the Avs today.

Hope everyone is having a good today. I don't have too many followers, but anyone that does, I enjoy hearing from you and hearing what you like or maybe don't like. I am not a professional handicapper yet, but my goal is to be. I want to thank Joe who found me through Golden Touch Craps for sending me an e-mail.

NHL We went 1-2 yesterday, I think it was just one of those days. It is hard to take a road team to win, but the Canadiens were on fire this year on the road. I am 35-28-4 in hockey, and no games jump out at me.
I will share this for anyone who likes to gamble. Since I am serious about this, I do not bet on anything with high odds. If you want to have some fun, take a look at the Chicago game tonight. Chicago ML is -220. Colorado is horrible on the road. The goalie is yet to win on the road and Emery is yet to lose at home.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Took a bit of a loss, thanks to a worthless goal with 8 seconds left on the Pitt  game. Oh well anyone who has gambled long enough knows that these things happen, and we just hope that they happen more in our favor than they happen against. I think I just remember the ones that effect me negatively.
Time to jump back in and make some money. I am trying to just play a couple of games, but there were like 5 NHL games that I like, so I only will play 3 that match 3 different criteria for me.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I was watching some baseball yesterday for the first time, and I was getting pumped about this season coming up. Baseball for me is fun to handicap. I learned so much last season, and I hope to put that into effect this year. There are so many games, and my strength is look at data to determine what game to take. No other sport offers as much data.

A decent day yesterday, and I thought I had the over on the Dallas game after 3 goals were scored in the first period.
